About the visitor service

In the visiting service, we match volunteer visiting friends with people who live with mental vulnerability – for example, anxiety, depression or social isolation. The purpose is to create present, safe relationships and give the participants a better everyday life through regular visits and conversations.

Your tasks as a volunteer leader

As a volunteer leader, you will play an important role in ensuring that new participants and volunteers get off to a good start. Among other things, you will:

  • Make home visits to new participants and hold initial interviews

  • Hold interviews with new volunteers at our secretariat on Nordre Fasanvej

  • Match participants and volunteers based on interests, personality and needs

  • Follow up on the matches and be a safe sparring partner along the way

  • Continuous collaboration with the other team leaders and our consultant, who supports and spars with you in the role

You have a lot of influence on how and when you complete the tasks – many conversations and visits can be planned flexibly to fit into your calendar.

Who are you?

We imagine that you:

  • Want to commit 10-15 hours per month

  • Is good at listening, creating security and seeing the potential in people

  • Can meet people who live different lives than you, with openness and curiosity

  • Thrives in an independent role, but also enjoys collaboration and sparring

You do not need to have a professional background in social work - we will prepare you well for the role through introduction, ongoing sparring and relevant courses.

What do you get as a volunteer leader?

  • A meaningful role where you really make a difference

  • A thorough introduction to both the task and the target audience

  • Sparring and support from our consultant and the rest of the team

  • Opportunity to participate in courses, network meetings and social events at Red Cross Capital.
