Purpose of the End-of-life companionship service

Many people in Denmark live and die in solitude. In Red Cross Copenhagen, we believe that no one should die alone unless they wish to.

The end-of-life companionship service collaborates with nursing homes, hospitals, and home care groups, which can request volunteer companions to be with the dying during their final moments.

If you want to know more about the end-of-life companionship service, whether you’re a family member, a representative of a care center, or interested in starting a collaboration, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to visit nursing homes, hospitals, and other institutions to explain the end-of-life companionship service and discuss how we can establish a partnership.

You can reach us at: vagetjenesten.rkh@rodekors.dk

We currently do not accept English-speaking volunteers for this activity
