Do you miss relationships and social interaction, and would you like to have a volunteer visit your home?

Read more and apply for a visiting friend here.

Before you sign up to have a visiting friend, you should consider the following:
  • It is important that you are at a place in your life where you have the energy to let in a new person with whom you can form a good relationship.
  • If you have dementia, active substance abuse, outgoing behavior or a developmental disability, we refer you to associations and/or services that are designed to work with these areas.

You can expect to meet a visiting friend who is eager and eager to get to know you. The volunteers are people of all ages and from different backgrounds. It is always the same volunteer who visits you. You will therefore have ample opportunity to get to know each other well and build a secure relationship.

Together with your visiting friend, you will find out what you would like to do together. For example, you can drink coffee while talking about the week's events, go for a walk, play a game or talk about what may be difficult. The most important thing is that the meeting between you is based on humanity.

Click on “GET A VISITING BUDDY” below and fill out the form, and we will contact you to discuss further about getting a visiting buddy.

As a visiting friend, you bring presence and joy. You become of great importance in another person's everyday life.

As a visiting friend, you must be good at listening and meeting another person where they are. You must want to get to know another person and to enter into a close and trusting relationship. We also expect you to comply with the agreements you and the visitor make.

It is expected that you can spend between 1-2 hours each week being a visiting friend.

We match you with an elderly person who we think you would be a good fit with. We will of course take into account when and how often you can volunteer as a visiting friend.

After you have been matched, you will be in charge of the contact with your visiting friend. Together you will decide what you would like to do. For example, you can have coffee, talk about the week's events, or go for a walk. The most important thing is that the meeting between you is based on humanity.

Click "BECOME A VOLUNTEER" below and fill out the form, and we will contact you to discuss further starting as a volunteer visiting friend.

Well, it's become normal for me that that's just what I do on Saturday or Sunday. Then I play yatzy, watch TV, talk or drink coffee - yes, have fun with my visitor. I've always had the time to spend a few hours on that on my weekends
