Tour service for seniors
At Turtjenesten, we offer tours for senior citizens in the Capital with a limited network.
The tour service offers adventure tours for those who are over 65 years of age and live in the Copenhagen area. Some tours offer a day of cozy company and a delicious meal. Other tours are cultural experiences, such as a visit to a museum or church. A volunteer driver and tour leader will drive you to and from your home in a minibus. There is a small user fee on our tours of DKK 50, which helps cover the cost of fuel, among other things. In addition, you must also pay for your own lunch and any museum admission.
Below you can see the latest programs for the various tours we offer. You are affiliated with the program where you live and you can sign up for the Tour Service if you are a resident of either Copenhagen, Dragør or Frederiksberg Municipality.

Seniors who are 65 years of age or older and reside in either Frederiksberg, Dragør or Copenhagen Municipality.
The tours are aimed at seniors who miss getting out with others and having a good experience. The special thing about the Tour Service is that you are picked up and dropped off at your own home.
There is space for a limited number of walkers on the buses.
You must want to come on a trip and share a wonderful day with other seniors.
You must be self-reliant both physically and mentally and be able to call in and sign up for and cancel trips yourself. But of course, the volunteers always lend a supportive hand.
You have the opportunity to have some wonderful experiences with other seniors.
You will be picked up by a volunteer driver and tour guide at your doorstep, and when the day's tour is over, you will be dropped off again at your doorstep.
There is a small user fee on our tours of 50 DKK, which helps cover the cost of fuel, among other things. In addition, you must pay for your own lunch and any museum entrance fees.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER
In Turtjenesten you can become a volunteer tour leader or driver. As a volunteer, you help give older people with limited networks the opportunity to have some wonderful experiences.
You can volunteer in the Tour Service as a tour leader or driver. The tour leader plans the tours and is also responsible for practical matters such as booking tables and helping participants on and off the bus.
The driver is responsible for driving and planning the route, including pick-up and drop-off. To become a volunteer driver in Turtjenesten, you must have a valid driver's license for passenger cars. You will come for a test drive with one of our bus managers, who approves new drivers.
As a volunteer, you must want to help the elderly and help give them a good experience. You are expected to participate in the social interaction on the trip.
Whether you want to be a tour leader or a driver, you must be able to drive one fixed day per week or one fixed day every other week. The trips will typically be from 9 am to 4 pm or 5 pm.
You must enjoy the company and contribute to creating a good atmosphere and presence on the trips.
As a tour leader, you plan the tours and are also responsible for practical matters such as booking tables and helping participants on and off the bus.
As a driver, you must of course have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving a minibus (requires a regular driver's license).
