Do you find yourself feeling more alone than you would like, and do you miss more relationships in your life? Then The Work might be for you.

At Værket, we create a safe space where you can talk openly about what can be difficult – and meet others who recognize the feeling of being a little alone.

The work consists of groups of 10-12 people who meet once a week for 6-8 months. Here we talk about big and small things, are curious about each other and share what fills us up. Along the way, we use small exercises that provide opportunities to develop, build courage and self-belief – and make it easier to make contact with others.

In addition to meeting in a fixed room, you will also meet with your Værket group for events and activities. It could be for a meal together in Absalon, a trip to the cinema or something completely different.

I have become better at making contact and communicating with new people.

JOIN US

Become a volunteer in communication

In Værket, adults aged 25 – 60 meet in a supportive community to strengthen and train social skills. If you are interested in joining, you can read more and register below.

The work is for those of you who are between 25-60 years old and who want to expand your network or strengthen your current relationships.

You can expect to meet with your group for a few hours each week. Right now we are about to start a group on Wednesdays from 17-19 pm in Nørrebro.

You must want to become part of a committed community. Here you will meet new people who, like you, experience loneliness and want to work with it. You must be prepared that participation in the Work will require that you are ready to share a little of yourself, while also listening to others' experiences and thoughts about loneliness.

Click on “become part of the Work” below and fill out the form, and we will contact you for further discussion about starting up in the Work.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

the outside world

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer group leader at Værket, you can read more below.

As a group leader in Værket, you will help create the framework for meaningful conversations about loneliness and much more. You will contribute to breaking with loneliness as a taboo and support the courage, commitment and skills of the participants in the group.

As a volunteer group leader, you will be assigned to a group. It may already be running, but you may also have to help start it.

You must be ready to facilitate primarily conversation exercises and participate in them on an equal footing with the participants and other group leaders, while also participating in ongoing meetings in the group leader squad.

You will be well prepared for the task through thorough introduction, supervision, competency courses and sparring.

We are currently starting new groups and do not know the exact group days yet.

Press the “Volunteer” button below and fill out the form and we will contact you.

The place we stand, secretly lonely.

The place we stand, secretly lonely is an anthropological exhibition created by Arendse Reeh in collaboration with Værket. The exhibition is about what it is like to live with long-term loneliness and contains stories from participants in Værket about how they experience loneliness. You can see the exhibition here.
