As a volunteer leader in the Red Cross, you can engage in many different activities where people meet one-on-one. The activities can be for adults, seniors or families in vulnerable situations. No matter what activity you are a part of, your role as a volunteer leader is to help relationships get off to a good start and support both participants and volunteers along the way.
What do you do as a leader?
- You will conduct initial interviews with both volunteers and participants. Depending on which activity you are leading, the interviews will take place either at our secretariat in Nørrebro, over the phone, or at the participants' homes.
- You match and help relationships get off to a good start.
- You follow up and ensure that both parties are happy in the relationship.
- All matching is done using our IT system Podio.
Who are you?
- You are curious about people with different life experiences than your own, and are natural at making contact and creating a good conversation.
- You are proactive and have the courage to take responsibility.
- You have a good overview and are good at coordinating
- You are comfortable with IT – or are eager to learn what you don't know yet.
- You have time and flexibility. The number of hours the role requires depends on the activity.
