Family camps
For many families, the summer holidays are associated with experiences where you are together as a family. But for some families, the summer holidays can be filled with emptiness. That's why we help provide an unforgettable week for the children and their parents.
BECOME A VOLUNTEERFor many families, the summer holidays are associated with shared activities, excursions and experiences, where you are together as a family and get recharged for the rest of the year. For the families from our family activities in the Red Cross, the summer holidays can be filled with emptiness and a lack of experiences.
Through the camps, we want to strengthen the family network, give them positive experiences together as a family and create a space of peace, security and community.
Everyone, especially the children, should leave with something to talk about after the summer holidays when everyday life returns.

Would you like to volunteer at our family camps?
As a volunteer at the Red Cross Capital Family Camps, you help make a big difference for families and children in vulnerable positions and give them some good experiences. You will also become part of a unique community of volunteers who together create the camp for the first time.
Volunteering at the family camps is for those of you who like to see the "magic" happen and who want to do volunteer work for a limited, but intensive, period.
For the camps, we are looking for volunteers to do activities and for our kitchen team.
Activity volunteers' tasks:
- Plan and run inclusive, fun and educational activities for families.
- Create a good atmosphere and spread good cheer.
- Have a good chat with the families and make them feel safe.
Kitchen volunteer tasks:
- Your most important task is to prepare the camp's delicious meals together with the kitchen team.
- To create a lot of excitement, curiosity and joy about good food.
- To create a framework, space and opportunity for children and parents to help in the kitchen.
In 2026 we will hold a camp in week 27 and one in week 30. Both camps last five days and are held in South Zealand. Approximately 15 families at each camp.
