We are constantly looking for you who want to become part of our team of team leaders for our activities: Visiting friends for seniors or Visiting friends for the mentally vulnerable.

You choose whether you want to be a team leader at Visiting Friends for seniors or for people with mental health issues. The task as a team leader is the same, but the target groups are different.

Your most important task as a team leader is to hold conversations with new visitors and volunteer visitors, and then match them with each other. You have ongoing contact with visiting friends and recipients, including through follow-up on the matches you have made.

You will become part of a team of other dedicated team leaders, where you meet to exchange experiences and lift as a group.

The tasks as a team leader:

  • Hold conversations with new visiting friends – the conversations typically take place at our secretariat on Nordre Fasanvej in Nørrebro
  • Make home visits to visitors and talk about their wishes and interests in relation to having a visiting friend
  • Match visiting friends and support the relationship to get off to a good start
  • Continuously follow up on your matches.
  • Work in our IT system Podio.

 

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A TEAM LEADER?

  • That you have 4-6 hours a week for the assignment - how you plan the hours is up to you.
  • That you enjoy talking to and meeting people
  • That you are comfortable with IT
  • That you are motivated by taking responsibility for a group of visiting friends and visitors in an area of ​​Copenhagen
  • It is an advantage if you can work as a team leader during the day, but not a requirement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It doesn't require any special experience to become a team leader. The most important thing is that you are good at talking to people, are good at keeping multiple balls in the air and are comfortable using IT.

As a team leader, you have a great deal of flexibility in planning your work tasks. For example, you plan home visits and volunteer interviews yourself, depending on when you have time.

You will have access to the Red Cross Capital Secretariat, which is available, for example for volunteer interviews. We also have office space that you can book for administrative work.

Home visits will take place at the participants' homes. You will be assigned to a smaller geographical area of ​​the capital, where you will primarily make home visits.

There are ample opportunities to work from home, as you will receive logins to various systems that you can log in to via your phone or PC.

As a team leader, you have ongoing sparring with your team leader colleagues.

There are team leader meetings, which can be held every 4 or 6 weeks. At the team leader meetings, you will exchange experiences and discuss your tasks and work.

You will also have collaboration and dialogue with the consultant from the Red Cross Capital, who supports the activity.

HOW TO BECOME A TEAM LEADER

Start by filling out the registration form, where we will receive your contact information and a brief description of your motivation for the role as team leader.

Conversation with volunteer team leader

A team leader invites you to a volunteer interview. The interview will be held at our office on Nordre Fasanvej, and is intended to tell you more about the task and get to know you better. After the interview, you will assess whether the team leader role is something for you.

We dress you for the tasks

We will dress you for the task and give you an introduction to the IT system you will be working in. You will also receive a Red Cross email and mobile phone. You will also come out with another team leader and try volunteer interviews and make home visits.
