Why is the role important?

Our walking buddies and visiting buddies create strong relationships between volunteers and seniors who need presence and companionship. To ensure that these matches work well, it is important that both volunteers and participants have a place to share their experiences, get support, and tell if something is not working optimally.
As a follow-up volunteer, you contribute to exactly this: you give us insight into how the programs are developing and help ensure that all parties thrive. Your role is therefore central to maintaining quality and creating good and safe programs – for both volunteers and participants.

What is the task about?

Of:

  • Calling older participants (65+) and asking how their match is working

  • Makes follow-up calls and emails to volunteers

  • Listens, acknowledges and gathers information about needs or challenges

  • Makes notes in our system and notifies the team leader if anything requires attention

  • Helps participants and volunteers get in touch with relevant initiatives and support opportunities when needed

Your most important role is to be a liaison – that is, you make sure that the right person takes over if the person you are in contact with needs sparring and support. The role is new, but the framework is clear, and you will receive a thorough introduction.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who:

  • Is comfortable with conversations – both easy and slightly more difficult

  • Can create calm and presence over the phone

  • Is empathetic, listening and curious

  • Have the courage to use a computer and email (we will teach you what you need to know)

  • Able to work independently and follow through on tasks

Experience is not a requirement – the desire to talk to people in different life situations is the most important thing.

What do you get out of it?

  • A meaningful role where you strengthen the quality of our efforts

  • Experience with conversation techniques and contact work

  • Insight into how we match volunteers and participants

  • A present community where your ideas can be used

Time and place

Approx. 2–4 hours per week – flexibly from home or at our secretariat in Nørrebro.
In the start-up phase, it is an advantage that you work from the secretariat, where you will be provided with a telephone and computer.
