Qnet is our voluntary aftercare service, which is offered to women after a stay at a shelter. We provide support to women and children who have left an abusive relationship and who need help finding their feet in life again. The core of Qnet is 1:1 voluntary support and community.
You have the opportunity to volunteer as 1:1 support or as a volunteer in our community.
The role of volunteer 1:1 support
When you have been exposed to violence, you can often feel lonely and have many challenges in everyday life. You may miss someone to talk to about big and small things, and may need a helping hand and someone who can listen. That is exactly what we are looking for volunteers for right now.
Your tasks are:
- To meet with your match 2-3 times a month for a few hours.
- To be able to commit to being in a match with the woman for approximately 1 year.
- To take the woman's needs as a starting point and support her in that.
- Participate in supervision, theme nights or volunteer meetings approximately every 3 months.
We are looking for you who:
- Are mature and have life experience. It does not require a special background, as long as you are resilient and have the courage to learn.
- You who have the energy to be there for another woman
- Is a good listener and approaches other people with an open and appreciative mind.
- You who want to be part of the Red Cross organization.
