Red Cross Capital

We are currently looking for committed volunteers to start a new community for the residents of the Robert Jacobsensvej housing facility. The community will take place every Monday from 19-21 p.m.

The residents have a great desire to participate in various activities such as board games, billiards, table football, creative projects, music and much more. In the beginning, we will primarily focus on games and banco. Your efforts will help create the framework for a meaningful community for a vulnerable target group. Together you will create good experiences, togetherness, new relationships and get to know each other.

The target group consists of mentally vulnerable people with mental and social challenges. They often have a tendency to isolate themselves and experience loneliness. Through this community we want to change this and contribute to a more meaningful and social everyday life through inclusion and inclusiveness.

The community is not supposed to provide treatment or therapy. The most important thing is to meet the residents at eye level and create equal relationships.

You can read more about the Danish Red Cross and the community here: Red Cross Community on Amager – Red Cross Capital

AS A VOLUNTEER, YOU MUST:

  • Have the desire, time and personal resources to be of service to others who are in a difficult life situation
  • Be good at listening and meeting people at eye level
  • Commit to attending every other Monday
  • Be robust and able to accommodate the problems that the individual may have.
  • Being able to interact with people who may be affected

AS A VOLUNTEER, YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:

  • Making a difference for people with mental health challenges and vulnerabilities
  • Gain new relationships and good experiences and conversations
  • Strengthen your collaboration skills and experiences with volunteer work
  • Become part of a community with other volunteers who are passionate about making a difference – just like you.
  • Participate in a mandatory introductory course and receive offers of courses, sparring and ongoing supervision by a psychologist or psychotherapist

Disability or impairment
If you live with a disability, illness or impairment, we will try to match you so that the framework fits your needs.

We are looking forward to hear from you!
