Seniors can, among other things, get a pen pal, go on an excursion with the tour service or receive a security call every day.
People who have experienced trauma have received support because the Red Cross is present with Samaritans. At the same time, the volunteers in the Victim Advice Service are ready to listen and help victims, witnesses and relatives of crime and accidents.
Former drug users and women exposed to violence in close relationships are among those we help. Our two network houses are open to anyone who wants to be part of a meaningful community, and our food distribution service provides a helping hand to financially needy citizens.
People from vulnerable families have participated in the Family Network, where they meet other families. The family can also have a volunteer family friend who comes to the home and provides care and support. Last year, we were also able to distribute Christmas aid to a record number of people!
Homeless people have been helped as we run a shelter for women with special social problems who do not have their own home or cannot stay in their current home. We also have a care center for homeless people who need to recover from hospitalization.
The Red Cross works to ensure that everyone can provide first aid. That's why we hold a wide range of different courses for individuals and companies.
People with mental vulnerabilities have participated in our efforts, where our volunteers make a big difference in communities and one-to-one relationships. They form the framework for the development of equal relationships and meaningful communities, and break with loneliness.
