Round birthday at the Eirsgaard Care Center
It was a big celebration day when the Eirsgaard Care Center celebrated its 10th birthday on Tuesday, April 23, where partners, former citizens, politicians and friends of Eirsgaard were invited to food and drinks from 12:30-5 p.m.
“This project… No, because it’s not that anymore. This is a place.”
This is what Mayor Sophie Hæstorp said when she gave her opening speech at Eirsgaard's 10th birthday. Although the sentence may seem banal at first glance, it is anything but. The sentence encapsulates the journey that the Eirsgaard Care Center has been on since it was founded.
started back in 2014 at the request of the Capital Region's social nurses.
Fast forward to 2024, and since its founding, Eirsgaard has been home to hundreds of homeless people who, after being discharged from hospital, have needed a safe place to live in the weeks following their discharge. As the president of the Red Cross, Jette Runchel, rightly saw,
As pointed out in his opening speech, "being fully treated is not the same as being healthy."
Days offered crazy drink and not at least one mass gain happy guests. This was due, among other things, to the many local partners, such as had decided that they would like to contribute to The party. Here the local menu included other provided drinks, Superbrugsen at Amagerbrogade 266 for great cake makers, Sussi, who has been a volunteer for four years for beautiful Sarah Bernhardt cakes and Nordic Roasting Co. for top-class coffee. In addition Jacob & The Spices delivered a phenomenal offer of delicious food, and Kofoeds School had also made its pavilions available for the many guests who were briefly affected of drizzle during the afternoon.
The drizzle, however, was not something to be put an end to the celebrations. The team of volunteers at Eirsgaard had it. namely taken care of. After several weeks of preparations were made by Eirsgaard, namely razor-sharp, and was ready to take on the just about 150 guests who had chosen to spend their afternoon on Siljangade.
It has been happening lately with volunteers at Eirsgaard, and that's something which pleases Mathias Kiilsholm, who is nurse at the care center:
“Our volunteers have made a huge contribution effort, both with great help in in connection with the planning up to birthday, and on the day itself where over half of all Eirsgaard's volunteers came and “lent a big helping hand.”
Finally, a big thank you to all of the guests present, and not least to all those people who have helped over time in and around the Care Center Eirsgaard.
