As a volunteer in the secretariat or in the finance sector, you can help support many of our organizational activities through administrative or practical task in the office – for example, with accounting or at the reception. Additionally, working in the administration is an excellent opportunity to get to know the organization and its staff. If you have an interest in administration, are service-oriented, and have good telephone manner or technical skills, there’s surely a task waiting for you to tackle.
As a volunteer in the secretariat, you can take on various tasks – we have four different functions. It can be in the Finance Function, the Senior Office, in the Team Service, or the Event Team.
Your four options as a volunteer in the secretariat
FINANCE FUNCTION
Volunteers in the finance function assist our finance department every week with tasks such as creditor accounting, debtor management, reconciling accounts and financial accounting for our many charity shops. You will be helping the finance department at the Red Cross Copenhagen and Samaritans. As a volunteer, you will be part of the finance function’s volunteer team.
THE SENIOR OFFICE
The Senior Office is a small office space with a lot going on. At the office, there is one permanent coordinator, while the other two administrative volunteers may change from time to time. We focus on building communities for people over 65, and the Senior Office plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day operations.
TEAM SERVICE
As a volunteer in Team Service, you are part of the Red Cross Copenhagen secretariat. Here, you assist us with various tasks falling under the ‘administrative’ category. For example, you can volunteer at our reception, where you help the receptionist answer phone calls and welcome guests. As part of the team, you’ll also be able to assist us in registering volunteers in our database and maintaining and archiving the information there.”
EVENT TEAM
Red Cross Copenhagen offers more than 50 different activities and community services. We participate in various events and expos to promote awareness of our programs.
