At Red Cross Copenhagen, we work every day to create meaningful activities for people like you—those who are facing difficult times or seeking companionship and a sense of belonging. We believe that no one should have to be alone if they wish to join a community and need support.
Good experiences together
In our more than 40 different social activities, you’ll have the chance to meet volunteers from Red Cross Copenhagen who are there to meet you as you are, get to know you, and share meaningful experiences together.
You can connect with our volunteers either one-on-one or in a group setting with others. The most important thing is finding the activity that suits you best. You can read more about our activities here.

Who is the target group for Red Cross Copenhagen's activities?
Our activities are primarily for adults and families who are seeking support and a sense of community. They are open to those living in Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Dragør, or Tårnby municipalities
Are you a professional or a relative of someone who could benefit from our activities?
If you, as a professional or a relative, know someone who could benefit from our activities, feel free to contact our activities team for an in-depth conversation about the available options. If Red Cross Copenhagen’s activities aren’t the right fit, we will always do our best to guide you towards other relevant services.

What can I expect from the volunteers?
Our volunteers are there to listen, support, and spend time with you. They come from different backgrounds, are off different ages and have interests, but what they all share is a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
What you can expect in terms of time, support, and companionship depends on the activity. In some activities, you meet regularly several times a month, while in others, you can drop in whenever you need. Examples include Netværkshuset Nørrebro and Netværkshuset Kastruplund.
Can I join more than one activity?
Yes, there is no limit to how many activities, you can participate in.
Is participation free?
Yes, most of our activities are free to participate in. In some activities, a deposit or a small symbolic fee may be required, for example, for communal meals. You will, of course, be informed about this in advance.
Where can I get more information?
For general inquiries and questions, you can contact our reception during opening hours, Monday-Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm and Friday from 9 am to 2 pm, by phone at 38 33 64 00. You can also email them at hovedstaden@rodekors.dk.

Communities

In the Family Network, families with children have the opportunity to relax and take a break from everyday life while also building relationships with other families. Read more here.
Qnet is for women who have experienced violence in an intimate relationship. This includes women who may have stayed at a shelter or who have otherwise broken free from the cycle of violence.. Read more here.
One-on-One relations
In a one-on-one activity, you will meet with a volunteer over a period of time to do something together.
‘A Good Start in Life’ is a support program for new parents and parents of young children aged 0-2 years. You will be paired with a volunteer parent supporter who can offer assistance and guidance regarding everyday challenges, as well as someone to talk to about all the new experiences that come with parenthood. Red Cross Copenhagen provides Christmas assistance and creates communities for families facing financial difficulties during a challenging time. Read more here.
The annual Christmas party hosted by Red Cross Copenhagen on December 24 aims to bring together people in the capital who would otherwise spend Christmas alone.

A drop-in center for individuals who are undergoing or have completed substance abuse treatment and wish to find a new direction in life without drugs. Read more here.
One-on-One relations
In a one-on-one activity, you will meet with a volunteer over a period of time to do something together.
Many people living with mental vulnerability long for relationships. Visiting friends meet every other week for a few hours of enjoyable companionship. Read more here.

In the Food Distribution program, you can pick up free and healthy surplus food such as fruits, vegetables, and bread. You can collect your surplus food either in Nørrebro or Tårnby. Read more here.

Are you over the age of 65 and longing for companionship, new relationships, or just someone to talk to now and then? At Red Cross Copenhagen, we offer a wide range of activities for seniors who want to break free from isolation and loneliness and seek more engagement in their daily lives. The Men’s Club is an active social community for men aged 65 and older. Read more here.
Our nursing home friends are volunteers present at various nursing homes in the capital. They help make life in nursing homes and assisted living facilities meaningful and community-oriented. Read more here.

In a one-on-one activity, you will meet with a volunteer over a period of time to do something together.
Visiting service for seniors is for those aged 65 and older who miss having a relationship and wish to enjoy friendly companionship with a volunteer visitor once a week. Read more here.
Walking Companions is a program for older adults aged 65 and over who want to incorporate more fresh air and movement into their daily lives, as well as increase social interaction. Read more here.
ChitChat is a service for lonely adults who need someone to talk to. You will be paired with a volunteer conversation partner to discuss anything on your mind. The service is conducted online via video. Read more here.

‘MERE FRI TID – FLERE MULIGHEDER’ is an Expo for those who are either already retired or are on their way to retirement. Here, you will find inspiration for activities and communities that can contribute to an active and meaningful senior life. Read more here.
The end-of-life companionship service provides companionship for the dying. We are present to offer comfort, security, and care during the final moments of a person’s life. Read more here.
Senior Guide ensures that older adults and seniors receive the necessary help and support for both practical and personal matters, regardless of their scale. This can include guidance on where seniors can find assistance with pensions, finances, or contact with authorities. Read more here.

For you who's in need of immediate help
Support and care for those who urgently need help, whether you lack a place to live, are leaving an abusive relationship, are struggling to manage your food budget, or have other concerns. To explore the various activities that might suit you, click on the categories below.

Eirsgaard Care Center is a program for those who are homeless and have been discharged from the hospital to the streets. Here, you can receive support and care while you recover. Read more here.
We offer homeless women a temporary place to stay. Our dedicated volunteers work hard to create a safe and active daily life for the women. Read more here.
One-on-One relations
In a one-on-one activity, you will meet with a volunteer over a period of time to do something together.
Red Cross Copenhagen’s victim support assists victims, witnesses, and relatives after violent and shocking experiences. For example, if you have been subjected to assault, rape, violence from an ex-partner, psychological or physical abuse within your family, robbery, theft, burglary, fire, stalking, suicide, relationship fraud, or digital violations.
