Victim support in Copenhagen provides support to victims, witnesses, and their relatives after violent and shocking experiences. For example, if you’ve been a victim of assault, rape, violence from an ex-partner, psychological or physical abuse within your family, robbery, theft, burglary, arson, stalking, suicide, or digital harassment. They also help if you’re in crisis following a traffic accident or other accidents. This service is available to witnesses or relatives of victims as well.
The counselors are volunteers but professionally trained to provide guidance and help you navigate through a crisis, shock, and other challenges following a significant life event. They can also accompany you to the police or support you if you need to appear in court as a victim, witness, or relative.
All support is free, and we are bound by confidentiality. We are available 24/7, and you can reach us at 2120 9170.
Success with Outreach Efforts
During a trial period, victims, witnesses, and relatives of incidents like violence or serious accidents have been contacted after the event and offered a conversation with a volunteer victim support counselor. An evaluation of the trial reveals that a remarkable 98 percent of those contacted found it to be a positive experience.
*Please note that the evaluation is in Danish.
We currently do not accept English-speaking volunteers for this activity
