GET A WALKING COMPANION
“Walking companions” is an offer for people aged 65 and above who wish to incorporate more fresh air and movement into their daily lives while getting to know another person. You get to choose where you want to go – perhaps a park or just around your neighborhood. Perhaps you sit on a bench, have a cup of coffee, and talk about various things. Even a short walk can bring great joy.
You will always walk with the same volunteer, so you will have ample opportunities to get to know each other well. The volunteer walking companions are people of all ages and with diverse backgrounds. What they have in common is the willingness and desire to go for walks that are tailored to your wishes and needs.
It is both pleasant and safe to take a walk in the company of another. Your walking companion is by your side and is ready to lend a supportive arm if you need it.
Some walking companions take walks together for an extended period, while others walk together for a short, defined period, such as part of a rehabilitation program.
We currently do not accept English-speaking volunteers for this activity
