Temporary guardian
Be a temporary guardian for a child until they turns 18 years old.
Through the temporary guardian program, minor asylum seekers are assigned to an adult who becomes their legal guardian until the child reaches 18 years of age or until the childs parents arrive in the country.
The temporary guardians are volunteers who come foward to safeguard the child’s well-being and rights. This includes practical assistance and guidance, but it also involves providing social support and care.
We currently do not accept English-speaking volunteers for this activity

Red Cross Copenhagen is the only private organisation that providies temporary guardians volunteer for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in Denmark. We have a close working relationship with municipalities in the capital region that receive unaccompanied children and youth.
